Heroes of Tomorrow: Tone

To get the idea. Also, while the series does represent heroes and a hero academy I wanted to do something a little different with that approach. The concept of Heroes of Tomorrow features students who have graduated from the hero academy and those who want to make a career out of being a hero qualify for the Hero Program and get enrolled in Pendragon Academy. Instead of teenagers, the majority of the characters are college age. With some exceptions as there are characters who are Child Prodigies, like Valentina's brother, and Cali, who is 18 years of age.

The Interverse and other things.

A lot of things have changed ever since I've been creating my own superhero universes. In the beginning, it was just City of Adventures and A Heroes Journey. Now it has expanded with other superhero series like Paragon, Noble Demons, and the pulp superhero series Danger Family. With City of Adventures undergoing a name changes as; "Heroes of Tomorrow"

City of Adventures Announcement

Some of you may know that COA has taken a bit of a hiatus. So I just want to address a few things in relating to that. For starters, I'm not abandoning the story. I have big plans for the series and I'm looking at seeing them through.

Second City of Adventures is undergoing a makeover. From this point on City of Adventures will be renamed Heroes of Tomorrow. Given that the focus is on the students of Pendragon Academy I say its pretty fitting. Especially with this tagline: "Dawn of A New Age"

In light of this announcement I also want to discuss what makes Heroes of Tomorrow different when compared to my other superhero works:

1. While the basic setting is a superhero series its more of a sci-fantasy series. Think of it like the Avatar Series; Which is a superhero show, in its own way. Or Dragonball
2.  With it being a constructed universe it also  follows its own rules.
3. There will be characters dressed in field uniforms but I wouldn't expect the standard superhero attire that you usually see in comics.

Danger Family Tropes

Dr.Henry Danger, renown science adventurer, and professor have traveled the world and had many thrilling adventures. While exploring various uncharted locations and met then befriended a lot of interesting individuals during his journeys. Even found love than marriage. But as society starts to become more advanced there is less need for science heroes like Henry. Some of them just retired while others use their talents to help the world become more technologically advanced.

James eventually decided to settle down with Rana, a green-skinned humanoid alien princess from the planet Zenon. And raise a family. But no matter how much society has advanced there is always a call for adventure.

By looking at it there is some Incredibles influence, with some Doctor Who. It’s also an homage to Pulp Adventure, Science, and Fantasy Serials.

Dawn of Justice: Ultimate Edition

Granted my last review of the movie was....less forgiving. After I've calmed down and watched this edition. It was average. It's not as good as MOS, a movie I'd credit for trying something different with Superman instead of trying to copy off of the Donnor films. Yet I still say DC fucked up with this movie because of the fact that Dawn of Justice is an average movie. At least in my opinion. IMHO the best Batman/Superman crossover was "Wolds Finest" from the DCAU.

If DC had at least tried to just focus on Superman vs Batman instead of adding all this other cluttered mess then the movie would have been passable. I'd still use Wonder Woman, despite my reservations and personally Gadot deserved more praise for her performance as Wonder Woman.

Eisenberg still sucks as Luthor. They should have got Bryan Cranston instead, he would have been chilling.

Overall I'm gonna give the Ultimate Edition a solid D +. It manages to clean up some of the clutter but not all of it and I do question why the scenes got cut, to begin with. At the end of the day, this is a comic book movie. There will be people that already made up their minds on if they either like, disliked, or are indifferent about the movie all-together. So to the ones who liked it and stick with their opinion regardless of who says differently. Power to ya. Everybody has a different taste. But let's not pretend that the movie is something that it's not, a flawless film. Cause it isn't. Also if somebody doesn't like the film then, for the love of God, be mature and respect that person's opinion. Life's too short to get bent out of shape over some dumb comic book film. And the same goes for the ones who don't like the movie.

A ranking system of the kind of Godlike beings within this verse

Cosmic Being: The top tier God in terms of godlike power. Cosmic Horrors usually fall under this category.

Note: Some spiritual beings, depending on the spirit, fall in-between this category.

City of Adventures Bios

Synopsis: Adventure lurks around every corner. Because of that, anyone could be a hero of their own story. No matter how connected or not connected they are with the main cast they each share an important role that makes up the COA Verse. No matter how big or small the part is.

Xergians

An all one-gender race of females, who live in a planet that exist within a universe that exist within space and time. A race of scientist who'd travel through different universes and planets for exploration and documentation. Probably one of the most ancient alien beings in the universe.

Influence wise they're a composite of Time Lords and Kryptonians.

Scion(Arturia North): A once resident of the Xerg race who currently lives on Avalon and has taken a career as a superhero. She's also the mother of Pendragon University's Caroline and Amelia North and adopted Cali into the North Household.

Pendragon University

The premier school where super beings go to either learn how to become superheroes or to just learn to control their abilities so that they can go about their day to day lives.

Headmistress: Dr.Gwen Shepherd-The Badass Normal among the world filled with super beings. A science adventurer who has traveled the world and across the universe, which also implies that Gwen has seen it all. The exotic locations and the dangers that lurk within, including the kind of dangers that mankind is not meant to witness. Yet in spite of it all, she has lived through it and continues to use her scientific knowledge to do good deeds. She has currently stepped down from her adventuring days and focused on guiding the next generation of heroes and adventurers.

Basically, she's who Bruce Wayne would be if gender flipped and were a legitimate science hero instead of a costumed vigilante. And with a more ideological way of thinking.

Headmaster: Sir Myrdin Vimes-The Architect of Magic, debuted with protecting the universe from things, and people, who would destroy it/rule it. Or worse. Probably the most mysterious of the teaching staff as she rarely interacts with the students or the staff as her 'busy schedule' makes it rather difficult to do so. But despite that she always have the students best interest at heart, even though her moral standard of teachings would tend to clash with Gwen's. For instance, Gwen wants the students to have an education and learn something from their stay in Pendragon University and while Myrdin agrees with that she also want to take what they've learned and use it to survive the dangers they'll inevitably face. Which make some assume that Myrdin is training soldiers instead of students.

Noble Demon's Character Bios

Noble Demons is an urban fantasy series that blends in both superhero and shounen anime tropes into what could possibly end up being one wacky universe.

Owen Smith an everyman scientist who, like everyone else, has a sense of purpose they want to fulfill. Owen's sense of purpose is to become a supervillain. Not just any supervillain but one of the greatest supervillains in the world. Sounds simple enough but in the supervillain game, there is competition and the competition that Owen will face is pretty brutal. Does Owen have what it takes to become one of the most nefarious supervillains in existence?

In this thread is the rundown of the cast of characters Owen has known or will encounter during his journey.

Kelly: Owen's assistant/bodyguard/dragon. Genetically created from Owen's DNA, he intended to create a female clone of himself. Primarily because he wondered what he'd look like as a woman. What resulted instead was a 12ft Gorilla with super intelligence and super strength.

Kelly is the glue to Owen's moral fiber and helps keep Owen's villain operation running smoothly.

I've been out of the loop as far as superhero comics go, every now and then I'd catch some indy comics that would catch my eye, while also try to catch up with what is going on in mainstream comics. And based on what I've read I really have no interest in going back. Also a combination of burn out and RL stuff has hampered me from investing in both superhero comics and films.

Despite this setback it has inspired me into creating a few superhero universes of my own; City of Adventures, A Heroes Journey, and Danger Family Adventures.

City of Adventures: The inspiration behind this is from the tv series Young Justice, with a touch of Invincible. Both of those series had great ideas that involve the coming of age of teen heroes who will eventually grow up and see that being a superhero is more complex than what they've expected. City of Adventures is a satire of growing up. There is no status quo. The teen heroes will deal with the challenges of growing up and society changing around them. How they'll adapt to it is up to them.

The closest series that came to mind in regards to that was Watchmen. In Watchmen the characters, some of them, grow old and as society changes so do the heroes. Some for worse while others still try to keep an idealistic mindset.

A Heroes Journey: While it has a superhero character this series is more of an homage of anime and old school science fiction tropes. For instance the series takes the concept of a harem anime but updates it in the manner that the participants involved look better in the process. It also showcase a grim reality concerning alien invasions and superhero works. At their competent the aliens still win despite the heroes assembling, it has to take a full united front of the Earth's defense and several decades of planning for them to strike back and win. And it answered a question that not many alien invasion scenarios answer, why cant the villains and heroes join forces against an invading threat?

Danger Family Adventures: This is a genre throwback to the Pulp Adventure Era. Its basically what if Johnny Quest is a female who grew up and had a family of her own?

Reconstruction is the key theme of these works. It takes apart the genre they're based on, understand how it works, then put it back together again. The superhero genre has always been taken apart but why not put an effort in putting it back together?

Eiyū No Tabi(A Heroes Journey): Series Rundown

Tagline: "There are no Gods, just heroes."

Synopsis:

Remember those alien invasions from superhero comics where the heroes would unite and defeat the evil aliens? In A Heroes Journey, the same scenario applies but the difference between this and fiction is that the aliens won. When an alien threat becomes too powerful for even a group of heroes to stop then what is the other alternative? Team up with the super villains; let's face facts, you have some villains value living on earth as much as the heroes. 

Regardless of the team up, that didn't mean the heroes and villains defeated The Valken Empire overnight. It had to take two decades till the remaining resistance manage to defeat The Valken's and draw them back. When everything has settled the heroes and villains help repair the earth.

 Would that mean that the heroes and villains go back to their old ways and status quo prevailed? No. After years of joining forces and protecting what is left of the Planet Earth, they both realized that none of the old rivalries mattered in the grand scheme of things. So they formed an organization called The Federation; An organization that helps advance the Earth for the better and ensure that it remains safe from threats like The Valken Invasion.

In the latter half of the 25th century, the earth has progressed thanks to the advancements of the super technology processed by The Federation. And now a new generation of heroes have risen. Damon Sullivan is among the new generation, he has moved to Haven in hopes of establishing a superhero career. But he'll soon discover that the road to becoming a hero won't be an easy one.

Author's Note: As Heroes of Tomorrow is a superhero series but it's core setting is a Science Fantasy, Eiyu No Tabi is a superhero anime series that plays as a straight up military science fiction. As the tagline depicts there are no Gods of mythology origin but only heroes with super abilities.

Volume 1: You And Me, We Come From Different Worlds

Chapter 1-Home Sweet Home

Synopsis: Meet Dr. Damon Sullivan, a former resident of Metro City, who has traveled to Haven so that he can establish a career as a superhero and as a scientist for Astro Labs(A sub-division of Astro Corporation). There he met a young woman named Leia. A cheerful yet quirky individual, whom they've met at a noodle stand. It wasn't loved at first sight, more like friend at first sight. Like lightning, the two instantly struck a friendship between the two.

Damon discovered that she's Haven's resident super-heroine.  An investigator who investigates extraordinary and super events. Like Damon, she's also employed by Astro Corporation. The two clicked so well that they both agreed to go on a date.

It wasn't the usual, going out to movies, kind of date either. Especially when it involved two heroes: in their first date they travel the stars, seeing which of them could manage to out-race Hayley's Comet. Damon was dressed in Omni-Man attire. It is a dark blue lightweight armor that enables him to combat powerful ex-beings(Super Beings of Extraordinary Origin) given the fact that he doesn't have any superpowers of his own. Leia is a, as she describes, Magi-Senshi(Magical Warrior). She finds the term Magical Girl demeaning. During the second date, a mad terrorist named Ted Bomber had rigged the train with enough explosives to level a city who has hacked the train full of passengers to explode the minute it reaches Kiyone. Damon and Leia have to save the train filled with passengers while making sure the train never reaches the city of Kiyone.

Note: If one is going to do a romantic date involving two superheroes then why not go all out and bring excitement into it?

Omni-Man asked ALICE to pinpoint the location of the explosives, its at the basement of the train.. Sailor Dark meanwhile announces to the passengers to remain calm and that the heroes have gotten it under control.

Sailor Dark opened the train door and use her magic to gently levitate each passenger, one by one, and place them on the ground safely. Omni-Man made it down to the basement section of the train. He searched the area till he eventually found the bomb. It is a cube shaped black object that is about 18ft and Alice detects the nanos inside. Omni-Man contacts Sailor Dark who informed him that the passengers are safe. After that news Omni-Man tries to get Alice to hack into the nanos but something is blocking her advances. Ted Bomber has the place properly secured. Alice announced that the bomb had 20 seconds in counting.

Omni-Man told Sailor Dark that he found the bomb. She got to his location and the two see they have to come up with a plan as they only have 15 seconds till the bomb goes off. Omni-Man may lack powers but if there is one thing he has is thinking under pressure. He suggest to direct the explosives upwards. Thus preventing any casualties.

Sailor Dark took note then used her magic to teleport Omni-Man off the train. She levitated and phased through the train. Sailor Dark magically lifts the train off the tracks and threw it in the air. It massively exploded but no damage, both collateral nor civilian, was made.

Sailor Dark sighs in relief.

"My heart was going as fast as that train too"Omni-Man levitated down next to her.

"So Ted Bomber did this, huh" Sailor Dark asked, looking up.

Omni-Man nods

Sailor Dark grinned at him."Want to go kick his ass?"

"Oh hell yeah!!!" Omni-Man fist bumped Sailor Dark
